the monsoon provides india with a diverse climatic pattern.justify this statement in 40-50 words
 

Dear Student.

a. There is a lot of variation in the climatic condition in India.
b. 
The monsoon type of climate is characterised by a distinct seasonal pattern. The weather conditions greatly change from one season. Though, there is an overall unity in the general pattern, there are some regional variations in climatic conditions within a country based on temperature differences and precipitation. 
 c. For instance, onset of winters is a general definite pattern however temperature variation is there between  Delhi and ladakh.
d  Similarly monsoon is a definite pattern , but distribution of rainfall is uneven and may fluctuate.
 e. Parts of western coast and north eastern India Receive over about 400 cm of rainfall annually.
f . Less than 60 cm in western Rajasthan and adjoining parts of Gujarat, Haryana and Punjab.
g. Coastal plains generally have a moderate temperature with high precipitation.
 h. Relief features of an area also affects the amount of rainfall. For example,  Windward side of Western Ghats gets heavy rainfall but the Deccan plateau gets less rainfall as it lies in the rain- shadow area.

India has diverse climatic conditions. Three examples are:

  1. While during summers, temperature may reach up to 500C in some parts of Rajasthan and western Gujarat, while at the same time the temperature may be just around 200C in Jammu and Kashmir.
  2. While Ladakh and Leh may experience temperature as low as -400C during winters, the temperature at Chennai may hover around 200C to 250C on the same day.
  3. While the north eastern parts of the country receive abundant rainfall (about 200-250cm) the north western parts of the country (about 50 cm) hardly experience any rainfall
