Since the point lies on x-axis, its y-coordinate will be 0.
Let the point be (x,0)
Distance of point (7,-4) from point (x,0) = $2 \sqrt{5}$

$\sqrt{(x - 7)^{2} + (0 + 4)^{2}} = 2 \sqrt{5} x^{2} + 49 + - 14 x + 16 = {(2 \sqrt{5})}^{2} x^{2} - 14 x + 65 = 20 x^{2} - 14 x + 45 = 0 (x - 9) (x - 5) = 0 \Rightarrow x = 9 o r x = 5$
Therefore, two points (9,0) and (5,0) are possible.
