During colonial period Britishers introduced education system in India.British Indian was a huge empire and to administer and run it effectively they need large no. of workersin clerical, police , military and other jobs.positions at higher ranks( ICS ) were filled by Europeans and Britishers but below officer grade workersrequirement can't be met with them alone .so Britishers introduced education system to train us and make Indians fit for clerical and many other works ( below 1st grade).later Indians were even recruited as 1st grade officers as ICS.
