The space between the constituent particles are maximum in gases.Give reason.

We know that matter around us exists in three different states - solids liquids and gases. The fact that the spaces between the constituents of a gas is maximum is in fact a fundamental property of the gas and not a consequence of some other reason. The molecules in gases have the largest intermolecular spaces between them. It is because of this that the intermolecular forces between the particles of a solid are minimum. The fact that gases can be easily compresses, exert pressure and can diffuse is also because of large intermolecular spaces between them.

This is because the force of attraction between the particles of gas is very less.........
