In ∆ABE,

$Sin 30° = \frac{AB}{AE} \Rightarrow \frac{1}{2} = \frac{6}{AE} \Rightarrow AE = 6 × 2 \Rightarrow AE = 12$

Thus, the length of wire connecting the two poles is 12 m.
