The volume of oil in container A and container B is the ratio 4:7.1/2 of the oil in container AIs poured into container B.1/3 of the oil in container B is then poured into container A. what is the new ratio of the volume of oil in container ATo the volume of oil in container B

Dear Student,

volume of oil in container A and container B is in 4:7 ratio.
Let us consider oil in container A is 4 litre and oil in container B is 7 litre.
Now when 1/2 of oil from container A is added to container B then 2 litre of oil from A is added to container B. so, now oil left in container A is 2 litre and container B has 7 + 2 = 9 litre oil.
now we have to add 1/3 of oil from container B to container A . so 1/3 of 9 = 3 litre. so adding this 3 litre of oil to container A we will have 2 + 3 = 5 litre oil in container A and 9 - 3 = 6 litre left in container B.
So new ratio = 5:6
