And also, another reason to the frog acting so rude might be the fact that he knew that the nightingale had the ability to overpower him in the forest. The frog’s behavior portrays how people with equal qualities, efficiencies and qualifications tend to avail witty or unacceptable ways in order to outshine the other. The poem also explains about the concept of the survival of the fittest where silly and ignorant people like the nightingale cannot survive.

The poem focuses on the importance of self -esteem,self-confidence and the ability to reason out without being blindy influenced by others .You are what you are.Our self -image is often based on what others make us believe what we are.A poor self image will always lead to irrepairable damage.In the story ,the nightingale,an innocent bird gets easily influenced and flattered by the frog which is far too intelligent,cunning and crafty.Lack of judgement and self-confidence on the part of the nightingale cost her a painful death.
