Dear student,

- You have marked Question no 10. a) from Rain on the Roof, but there is no such reference in the poem. Kindly recheck the question.
The answer has been provided from 'The Lost Child'.
!0. a. The child was separated from his parents. He was distraught at being lost in the crowd. He wept more bitterly as the stranger lifted him up and enquired about his parents because the fact of his being lost sunk in even further into his psyche. All he wanted was the solace of finding his parents at that time.
Previously the child had enjoyed in the lap of nature by seeing the mustard field look like melting gold. He had followed the motion of dragonflies, bees and butterflies buzzing around in the field. He had tried to catch them but they had flapped and fluttered away. As he had entered the grove, flowers had fallen upon him. He had begun to gather them, but on hearing the cooing of doves, he had forgotten all about them and run to his parents shouting about the doves. The parents had called for the child again, who had then been prancing around the banyan tree.

b. At the entrance of the shrine, there had been a big crowd of people wanting to pay their obeisance. There, the boy had got separated from his parents. Had the stranger not picked him up, he would have been jostled about and trampled by the surging crowd. Then, the stranger had enquired about his parents and tried to calm him down.

c. There is no reference to any particular story. Kindly repost the query with a clear reference to the text for meaningful assistance from us.
