Two boxers have to fight in a square arena of side 30m. Four poles are stuck into ground at the four corners. A rope is to be pit around the poles to keep the spectators away. What length of the rope will be required if 2m are required for tying the knots ?

Dear Student,

We are given that the two boxers fight in a square arena of side 30 metre. Perimeter= 4 × side =4 × 30=120mNow, it takes 2m of rope to tie the knots and 4 knots are tied. Length of rope required for tying knots = 4 × 2 = 8mThus, total length of rope required = 120 + 8 = 128m

Given: 2 boxers fight in in a square arena of side 30 metre.
Perimeter= 4 x side
               =4 x 30=120
Length for tying knot is 2 m
             = 120 x 2
              = 240 metres
