We can't rotate our head completely.Why is that so?

Pivot joint is present where the neck joins the head. It permit the bones to turn around or rotate but does not allow complete rotation of our head. so, we cannot rotate our head completely but we can turn our head in four directions i.e., right, left, forward, and backward.
