  • Bronchi is the organ of the human respiratory system. In the middle of the thorax, trachea divides into two tubes. These tubes are known as bronchi and they enters into the lungs. One major bronchus enters the right lung, and the other, the left lung.
  • The bronchioles or bronchioli are the first airway branches that no longer contain cartilage. They are branches of the bronchi, and are smaller than one millimeter in diameter.

bronchi: A bronchi is a passage of airway in the respiratory tract that conducts air into the lungs. The bronchus branches into smaller tubes, which in turn become bronchioles.

bronchioles: The bronchioles or bronchioli are the first passageways by which the air passes through the nose or mouth to the air sacs of the lungs in which branches no longer contain cartilage or glands in their submucosa. They are branches of the bronchi. The bronchioles terminate by entering the circular sacs called alveoli.
