what are cyclonic depressions and how they affect the climate of India explain in brief.

Dear Student,

a. A low pressure system, also known as a depression occurs when air rises, forming an area of low pressure at the surface. This rising air cools and condenses and helps encourage cloud formation, resulting in cloudy and wet weather
 b. A cyclonic depression implies as a increased inward circulation of air at a low pressure system, accompanied by thunder storm.

The cyclonic depressions  originate over the Andaman Sea which are brought in by the sub-tropical easterly jet stream blowing over peninsular India. These are brought in during the monsoon as well as during the October to November period. These tropical cyclones are very destructive which causes  great damage to life and property.
