INSECTIVOROUS PLANTS ARE THE PLANTS WHICH GET THEIR ENERGY BY CONSUMING INSECTS.

EXAMPLES:PITCHER PLANT,SUNDEW PLANT,VENUS FLY TRAP ETC.

THESE PLANTS CAN ALSO CARRY OUT PHOTOSYNTHESIS BUT EAT INSECTS AS THEY NEED SOME NITROGENOUS PRODUCTS WHICH ARE LOW OR COMPLETELY VOID OF NUTRIENTS IN THE SOIL.THAT'S WHY THEY CONSUME INSECTS.

Insectivorous plantslike Venus fly trap, Pitcher plant etc. generally grow in low marshy areas where the nutrient specially nitrogen content is very less and the quality of soil is poor. To fulfill the requirements of nutrients of their body they consume insects.

These plants trap the insects and digest them by secreting some enzymes and obtain the nutrients from their body.

For example

pitcher plant

venus flytrap

sundews

bladderwort

waterwheel

Plants which eat insects are called insectivorous plants.Eg: Pitcher plant, sundew.

They contain chlorophyll but trap insects for their nitrogen requirement.

plants which feed on insects to fullfill their nutrition are called insectivorous plants . the soil in which they are grown is deficient in nitrogen. they have chlorophyll and carry out photosynthesis.
eg are-pitcher plant,venus flytrap,sundew etc

insectivorous plants capture insects because of lack of nitrogen in soil there structure is modified in such way that they can easily trap insects these plants are so colourful that insects get attracted towards them .example : pitcher plant, venus flytrap etc.

Plants *which feeds on insects* are called *Insectivorous plants*. Some examples are the pitcher plant and the venus fly trap. They are green plants which can photosynthesize but they grow in nutrient-deficient soil so they feed on insects to supplement the food prepared by them via photosynthesis.

Hope, this clears all your doubts.
*Thank You*

Insectivorous plants are the plants which obtain their food by consuming insects. These plants trap the insects by fragrance and attractive colour. Though these plants can do photosynthesis because they have chrophyll but for their nourishment they use this method. Some examples are Pitcher Plant and Venus Fly Trap Plant
