What are the different measures and facilities provided by the government to the poor people

Dear student, Government launched many poverty alleviation programs which are discussed under here - 1 ) Rural wage employment programme - a) It is also known as Sampoorna grameen rojgar yojana. b) It was started in order to provide employment opportunities to rural people. c) It was launched in 2001, by merging the two programs i.e. EAS ( Employment Assurance Scheme) and ( JGSY )Jawahar Gram Samridhi Yojana. d) It was initiated so that people can earn livelihood and can get food and shelter for themselves. 2) Employment guarantee scheme - a) It is also known as MGNREGA ( Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act ) which provides the rigjt to work to rural people. b) It provides at least one hundred days of guaranteed wage employment in each financial year to every house where adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work. c) It provides social security to certain class of rural people and give them opportunities to earn some money. d) It is especially to be administered by gram Panchayats.No middlemen is involved in this. 3) Mid day meal - a) It is the school meal program started by government of India in order to provide proper nutrition to children. b) The children usually belongs to lower class and scheme is effective in government school especially for primary childrens. c) It provides free lunch on working days to primary class children and also it increased the number of school going childrens. d) It was started way back in 1995 in order to attract children from deprived class so that they attend schools and complete their education. 4) Integrated child development services - a) This program was launched in 1975 and discontinue in 1978, but again it was relaunched by tenth five year plan. b) This program provides childrens under age of 6 and their mother with facility like food, education, immunization, health check-up and healthcare. c) This program is also connected with anganwadi centres which are located in rural areas with many volunteers. d) This program also looks forward to reduce gender inequality which is prevailing in many parts of the society.
