What are the events that take place in digestion in Stomach?

The process of digestion in stomach:

1) Churning?of?food?and mixing?food?with gastric juices.

2) Gastric juice is composed of hydrochloric acid, mucus, and?pepsinogen.

Hydrochloric acid dissolves bits of food and creates an acidic medium. In acidic medium,?pepsinogen?is converted to pepsin. Pepsin helps in digestion of protein.

During digestion, muscles push food from the upper part of your stomach to the lower part. This is where the real action begins. This is where digestive juices and enzymes break down the food that you chewed and swallowed. It prepares it to provide your body with energy.

When the food enters stomach ..;
Gastric juices are released which includes HCL , pepsinogen enzyme and mucus.
HCL helps make pepsin act and digest proteins from the chyme(food mixed with saliva ).
When this HCL is released mucus makes a layer of itself and protects the inner lining of stomach from HCL action.
