What are the functions of epidermis??
Functions of epidermis are:
1) The epidermis provides protection to the plant and prevents the cell from damage and infection.
2) It prevents loss of water (by evaporation) due to the presence of cuticle and prevents desiccation.
3) It helps in exchange of gases through stomata and keeps the plant part cool by loss of water through transpiration.
4) It absorbs water and minerals with the help of root hair.
