What are the similarities in the lives of bama and zitkala though they belong to different cultures?

The similarities between Zitkala-Sa and Bama are that they both had to face ill-treatment in their childhood days from their respective societies for belonging to the communities in which they were born. Zitkala-Sa had to fight to prevent her hair form being cut short and Bama had to study hard to prevent form being treated with indignity for the caste she belonged to.
