What are the steps of nutrition?Explain each of them.

There are 5 steps of nutrition. They are: INGESTION, DIGESTION, ASSIMILATION, ABSORPTION AND EGESTION.

Ingestion: It is the process by which the food is taken into the body of an organism. They have special organs for this purpose.

Digestion: The process of converting solid and complex food into simple ans soluble form is known as digestion.

Absorption: It is the process by which digested nutrients are absorbed from the intestine and transported to different parts of the body the circulatory system. It takes place through finger like projections called villi present in the walls of small intestine.

Assimilation: It is the process of utilising absorbed food materials foe energy, growth and devolopment.

Egestion: It is the process of removing undigested food materials from the body in the form of faeces.

Nutritionis the selection offoodsandpreparation of foods, and their ingestion to beassimilatedby the body. By practicing ahealthy diet, many of the known health issues can be avoided.[1]Thedietof an organism is what it eats, which is largely determined by the perceivedpalatabilityof foods.

Dietitiansarehealth professionalswho specialize inhuman nutrition, meal planning, economics, and preparation. They are trained to provide safe, evidence-based dietary advice and management to individuals (in health and disease), as well as to institutions. Clinicalnutritionistsare health professionals who focus more specifically on the role of nutrition in chronic disease, including possible prevention or remediation by addressing nutritional deficiencies before resorting to drugs. Government regulation of the use of this professional title is less universal than for "dietician."

A poor diet may have an injurious impact on health, causing deficiency diseases such asscurvy[2]andkwashiorkor;[3]health-threatening conditions likeobesity[4][5]andmetabolic syndrome;[6]and such common chronic systemic diseases ascardiovascular disease,[7][8]diabetes,[9][10]andosteoporosis.[11][12][13]

there are 5 steps in the process of nutrition , they are-
1. INGESTION - is the process of taking food into the body or eating of food by the organism .
2.DIGESTION -is the process in which food containing large insoluble molecules is broken down into small water soluble molecules which can be absorbed by the body or digestion is the dissolving of solid food .
3 . ABSORPTION-is the process in which the digested food passes through the intestinal wall in to blood stream .as after the digestion the food molecules becomes small and  soluble. thus food  passes through the wall of our intestine and goes in to the blood
4.ASSIMILATION-is the process in which absorbed food is taken in by the body cells and used for energy , growth and repair.blood carries the absorbed food to all parts of the body.
5. EGESTION-is the process in which undigested food is removed from the body.

There are five steps in the process of Nutrition in animals. These are: IngestionDigestionAbsorptionAssimilation and Egestion. Ingestion: is the process of taking food in to the body or 'eating of food' by the animal. Ingestion: The process of taking food into the body is called ingestion.

Digestion: the process in which the food containing large, insoluble molecules is broken down into small, water soluble molecules is called digestion.Absorption: The process in which the digested food passes through the intestinal wall into blood stream is called absorption.Assimilation: The process in which the absorbed food is taken in by the body cells and used for energy, growth and repair is called assimilation.Egestion: The process in which the undigested food is removed from the body is called egestion.

Nutrition in Simple Animals:

Amoeba and paramecium are two very simple unicellular animals. In unicellular animals, all the processes of nutrition are performed by the single cell.

Nutrition in Amoeba:

Amoeba eats tiny plants and animals as food which floats in water in which it lives. The mode of nutrition in Amoeba is holozoic. The process of obtaining food by Amoeba is called phagocytosis.

Steps involved in the nutrition of Amoeba:

Ingestion:

Amoeba ingests food by forming temporary finger-like projections called pseudopodia around it.The food is engulfed with a little surrounding water to form a food vacuole (‘temporary stomach’) inside the Amoeba.

Digestion:

In Amoeba, food is digested in the food vacuole by digestive enzymes which break down the food into small and soluble molecules by chemical reactions.

Absorption:

The digested simple and soluble substances pass out of food vacuole into the surrounding environment.

Assimilation:

The absorbed food materials are used to obtain energy through respiration and make the parts of Amoeba cell which leads to the growth of Amoeba.

Egestion:

The remaining undigested material is moved to the surface of the cell and thrown out of the body of Amoeba

The steps are as follows:-
1) Ingestion: The process of taking food into the body is called ingestion. 2) Digestion: the process in which the food containing large, insoluble molecules is broken down into small, water soluble molecules is called digestion. 3) Absorption: The process in which the digested food passes through the intestinal wall into blood stream is called absorption. 4) Assimilation: The process in which the absorbed food is taken in by the body cells and used for energy, growth and repair is called assimilation. 5) Egestion: The process in which the undigested food is removed from the body is called egestion.
