When the author returned from abroad, a sudden change came over the grandmother. She got a dilapidated drum and started singing songs about the homecoming of warriors. The author and his family had to force her in order to stop her from overstraining. During this period , she also gave up her praying. As a result of overstraining, she was affected by a mild fever. While the doctor assured them that it would pass, Grandmother believed that her end was near. She refused to talk to them and prayed to her life's end. It was as if she was just waiting to meet her grandson before passing away.
