What do you mean by backslash error in Micrometer Screw Gauge? What should we do to resolve it ?

Backlash error occurs in screw gauge, when we try to rotate the screw very fast to measure a reading then there is some slipping between the different screws instead of the rotation, which gives an incorrect reading.
To avoid this we should rotate the screw slowly in only one direction. Do not move screw in one direction and then in opposite direction repeatedly. 
Move the screw slowly in one direction.
