What do you mean by ration shops i am unable to understand i need handwritten meaning in a sheet of paper plz as i do not understand in meritnation platform.i need easy definition

Dear Student,

Ration shops are shops that supply essential items such as rice, pulses, kerosene, oil, wheat, flour, soap, sugar, etc. at a reasonable price. They are also called as fair price shops. Invariably the items in a ration shop are available at rates less than the market price, so they primarily cater to the poor and the population below the poverty line. In India, anyone with a ration card can buy items from a ration shop.
