Although, Bepin Choudhury learnt his lesson, it can be assumed that he was irritated as well. However, Bepin Choudhury must have forgiven Chunilal for his prank, because Bepin Choudhury does not come across as a vicious person. Moreover, the manner in which the story ends, indicates that Bepin Choudhury realized that the fault was his. He was was unable to understand Chunilal's problems and that he was not being a good friend. It is not mentioned clearly in the story that Bepin Choudhury acknowledges his fault, but it can be assumed that he felt genuinely sorry for his friend.
