What does the speaker say about father son relationship

In this poem  the speaker says about father & son's relationship there is a generation gap between each other  that is there is no understanding of each other like they do not share anything with each other and  they both speak like stranger's and the father do not know the likes & dislikes and son live in his own world.the father feels helpless and  the father is ready to forgive him.
