Dear Student, When coleoptiles is exposed to source of light , it bends in response to light. Phototropin molecules which is present on bright side absorbs more light as compared to shady side.These molecules of phototropin makes plant growth hormone auxin to be transported unequally on both the sides. Auxin transported more on the shady side and causes cell elongation making plant bend towards the light source. Thank You!
