What does this line means ' A noble wild beast greets you,'. ( Poem - How to Tell Wild Animals - First Flight)

Dear Student,
Asiatic Lions are termed to be the King of the Jungle. Hence, the Lion is a noble one. The lion is also termed as a wild beast in the human kingdom. The poet describes the meeting of the lion and the human wherein it either roars or stares at the human; is a form of greeting.
The figure of speech used here, is - an oxymoron, because of the presence of two opposite words side by side - noble and beast.
