What emotions did the author experience on reaching Antractica?
Before reaching Antarctica, the author had been travelling for over hundred hours by car, airplane and ship. She had crossed nine time zones, six checkpoints, three bodies of water and at least that many ecospheres. Therefore, her first emotion on reaching her destination was relief, which was succeeded immediately by a deep wonder. She wondered at the immensity and the isolation of the continent, but mainly at the fact that India and Antarctica were once the same landmass.
