What energy transformation takes place when a fuel burns?

Here the chemical energy of the fuel converts into thermal energy or heat energy as the energy transformation takes place .

The primary means of generating energy for human endeavors is the combustion of fuels. Fuels: Coal - burned in power plants Gasoline - burned in automobiles Natural gas - heating Heating oil – heating .Propane, charcoal, wood, candles, … Combustion (burning in air) releases the chemical energy stored in the chemical bonds of the fuels.

This would be chemical energy that is converted to heat. The heat from the wick melts the wax which gets absorbed in the wick and then gets burnt (which is really oxidation) to produce heat energy.
