what impression do u form of d narrator after reading d story ?

We feel that the narrator was attached to her mother and her family home. She did not like her mother to give away their family possessions to Mrs Dorling. She has to leave with her mother during the war, and when she comes back, she wants her things back. But she did not claim the things as she felt disconnected to them. The things had lost their charm for her. Mrs Dorling had not maintained the things well and so the narrator thought that those things will only bring sadness to her.
