what impression do you form about Ali as a hunter, as a human being and Ali as a father after reading the story 'the letter'?

Ali had been a clever shikari in his youth. Just as an opium eater cannot forgo his daily portion, he could not do away with hunting for a single day. It was impossible for the poor birds to escape his sharp eyes. Later, when his daughter got married and went away from him, he understood the pangs of separation. He left his old ways and became more humane and sympathetic. For the rest of his life, he became a symbol of true love. With a sense of devotion, he visited the post office everyday to get a letter from his daughter. Neither the harshness of the weather nor the jesting attitude of the clerks could deter him to visit there. He kept waiting for the letter until death parted him from life.
