On the basis of particle size, colloidal solution is one in which particle size ranges from 1 nm to 100 nm.
Colloidal solutions are heterogeneous system in which one substance is dispersed (dispersion phase) as very fine particles in other substance called dispersion medium.
Colloidal particle can pass through filter paper but not through animal or vegetable membrane.
Examples of colloids:
Gem stones
Paint
Milk
Blood
Hair cream
Smog, Clouds etc.
