what is ATPase ? and wht is f1? and f0 ?

what is it for?

@Poorna:- for your first question, you can refer to the answer provided by jailalith. Answer of your second question is provided below:-

f1 & f0 are the two parts of enzyme ATPase. F0 is found embedded in the thylakoid membrane and forms a Trans membrane channel that carries out facilitated diffusion of protons across the membrane whereas,  F1 is present on the outer surface of the thylakoid membrane which faces the stroma. These two parts help in the movement of protons across the thylakoid membrane- for the breakdown of gradient which results in production of ATP.

ATPases are a class of enzyme that catalye the decomposition of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) into

adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and a free phosphate ion. This dephosphorylation reaction releases energy,

which the enzyme harness to drive other chemical reactions that would not otherwise occur.
