Carbon footprint is the amount ( in tonnes) of greenhouse gases specifically carbon dioxide released by an organisation or a person through various human activities in a given frame of time.

Carbon credit is the permit/right which allows the holder of the permit to release 1 tonne of carbon dioxide.
