what is chromatin fibre?

Dear student,

The DNA winds around the histone protein to form a nucleosome. These nucleosomes give a bead on a string appearance, which further packaged and forms a chromatin fibres.These are still decondensed structure, present in interphase, early prophase and telophase of a cell cycle. These chromatin fibres further condensed into chromosomes in metaphase and anaphase.
