A corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis) is an insect belonging to the order lepidoptera. It is a common pest of grains especially corn and maize. It feeds on and damages various plant parts like leaf tissue, kernels, ears of corn and stalk. Infestation causes serious damage to both the quality and quantity of the crops.
