What is erythroblastic systole?

Dear student,
Erythroblastosis fetalis is an immune condition resulted from hemolytic anemia in the fetus which cause a threat to the foetus survival. It is caused by  transmission of maternal antibodies to fetal RBCs through placenta. The disorder usually results from Rh groups incompatibility between maternal and fetal blood groups. Women with Rh-negative blood carries a fetus with Rh-positive blood, fetal RBCs stimulate maternal antibody production against the Rh antigens. Usually, the first baby will not be affected as the women successively conceive a second and third baby, leads to the more antibodies produced thus causing this condition called Erythroblastosis Fetalis.
Diagnosis starts with prenatal screening. Prevention is Rh0(D) immune globulin injection for women who are Rh-negative.
