What is fertilisations ?

Fertilization is fusion of the male and the female gametes with each other to give rise to a single-celled zygote. Zygote is the diploid cell formed by the fusion of male and female gametes during fertilization in sexual reproduction. The zygote then undergoes repeated divisions to give rise to a new individual.
