What is fibre?

Dear Student

If you are talking about fibre in cloth, it is a piece of material which is long and flexible which when joined together forms a fabric.

And if you are talking about dietary fibre, It is a portion of plant derived foods that cannot be digested by human digestive system. It is basically a type of carbohydrate. It is found in cereals, fruits vegetables etc. As said they can't be digested by the body, they are fermented by bacteria releasing short chain fatty acids which are essential for body functioning.
