What is franchising?? I am not able to understand it clearly. Can u explain clealy??

See my friend, franchising is nothing but just simply giving the rights to someone else to use the name, trademark etc.of any particular company. for eg: you must have heard about pizza hut, dominos, McD etc. now tell me one thing, are they Indian companies? No. they are just the clone of the real companies based in US or UK or somewhere else.now the point to be noted is how come a company based in US or UK is doing business here. Now this is the situation where franchising comes into play. The owners of these food chains have given the rights to Indian entrepreneurs to use their name and sell the product and this processis simply known as franchising. Hope you have understood.
