Friction is the nature of surfaces in contact and it always opposes the relative tendency of motion between two surfaces 
in contact . For smooth surfaces in contact it resistance offered to relative motion will be very less ,as the surface get smoother its 
resistance will get reduced but for rough surface it will become very high.
