what is inductor..?

Inductor is an electrical passive device,which provides inductance in the circuit. When the current starts to flow across it, a magnetic field develops around it.

it can be defined as a coil of wire wrapped around an iron core.

If current I flows through an inductor then voltage drop is given by

Where I = time varying current

V = time varying voltage

L = inductance of inductor
