What is leaf malformation and leaf rosetters?

Leaf malformation occurs when the leaf blades fail to develop properly. The leaf becomes crimped, curled or string shaped.

The circular arrangement of leaves around a stalk where all the leaves are at the same height is known as leaf rosette. Leaves of plants like Agava, lettuce, dandelion etc. exhibit rosette pattern of arrangement.
