A material that generates a magnetic field is known as a magnet. Magnetism is the force produced by charged particles (electrons) of a magnet. It is simply, a magnetic substance, for example iron, attracted by a magnet; where the attraction is by the force of magnetism. The force generated can either be attractive or repulsive.
