What is match fund bank balance and why is it shown on the assets side in the balance sheet

Dear Student,

Match Fund Bank Balance refers to the amount set aside in Bank for organising Matches/ to be used for match expenses.

Since it is a Bank Balance , it is shown on the asset side of Balance sheet. But this account balance is purely restricted to be used for Match only & no other use.

Match fund is referred as the amount which is set aside for the particular purpose of matches. It is shown on the asset side because it is the reserved amount which will be giving benefit to the holder.
