what is modulator

Modulator is a device used for Modulation. Modulation is the process of changing one or more properties of carrier signal, with a modulating signal carrying message to be transmitted. 

Different types of modulation are: amplitude modulation (AM), frequency modulation (FM) and phase modulation (PM). We use the technology of modulation, for transmitting message signals effectively for long distances.
