Mucus is a slippery secretion produced by the mucous glands. The mucus protects the epithelial cells of the major organs such as that of the digestive system, respiratory system etc.

Mucus is that green stuff inside your nose. It's also inside your throat-it's there to (hopefully) stop viruses, bacteria and anything else that may start a disease getting inside your body. You swallow it and they get destroyed in the stomach.

mucus is a sticky substance which is not only present in the nose but also in the stomach.in the nose it acts as a barrior for all dust particles.while its function in the stomach is to prevent the harm to the stomach wall by HCL acid.
