Peyer's patches are the small aggregates of lymphoid tissue or cells present in the walls of small intestines. They provide immunity against the pathogenic microorganisms in the intestines.

The Auerbach’s plexus or myentric plexus is one of the nerve centres that controls the digestive system. The other being â€‹submucous plexus or Meissner’s plexus.
Auerbach’s plexus is situated between the circular and longitudinal muscle layer of the lower oesophagus, stomach and intestine. It controls peristaltic movement of alimentary canal, secretion of juices, movement of food etc.
