What is phrase and clause?

A phrase is any group of words that adds meaning to a sentence. It is not a complete sentence as there is no subject in it. However, when a group of words contains a subject and a verb, it is called as a clause. It can or cannot be a complete sentence.

Example of a phrase: Needing help

Example of a clause: Although she is hungry
