what is political freedom

Political freedom refers to the absence of the oppression of citizens by the government. Citizens have political freedom if they are free to conduct their lives without any interference by the government. Citizens should be free to conduct normal economic activities like farming, trading and manufacturing; they should be free to be able to develop their capabilities through education and free discussion; they should be able to criticize the government fearlessly and should have the right to change the government through non-violent means like elections.
