What is retting and spinning ???????

Jute fibre is obtained from the stem of the jute plant by retting. The juste fibres are obtained from the bark of plants are naturally glued together by a sticky substance. This sticky substance needs to be removed inorder to obtain fibres. Bundles of the fibre are dipped in water which rots the stems and separates the fibres. This process is called retting.

The fibres are made into long thread-like strands. These strands are spun with the help of spinning machines to form yarn. The process of making yarn from fibres is called spinning.

I do hope that this helps you!!
