What is rolling friction? How is it put to good use?

the resistance to motion experienced when rolling an object is called rolling friction . it is less than sliding friction (frictional force offered when sliding an object ) . 

it is very useful and used in the following ways :--

1. in ball bearings to reduce friction by converting sliding into rolling friction

2.in the tyres of roller skates again to reduce friction
